Green onions are the most commonly planted vegetables by chainpots in Japan.
We describe here how to seed them in our chainpots.

Required for green onion seeding
- Chainpot: CP303
- Seeder: 3.3mm Diameter × 2mm Thickness (2-3 naked seeds per cell)
- Nursery tray
- Opening rods
- Opening frame
- Dibble board
- Brush
Especially for naked seeds to prevent static electricity:
- Antistatic sprays
- or Powders (potato starch or baking powder)
How to seed
- Spread the chainpots with the opening rods.
- Set the chainpots to the opening frame.
- Remove the rods and set the frame to the nursery tray.
- Fill the potting soil with hands.
- Clean the surface with the brush.
- Make holes with the dibble board.
- Coat the seeds with powders to prevent the static electricity. (Or apply the antistatic spray 15 minutes before using.)
- Place the seeds in the seeder and shake it to set them to each hole of the seeder. (2-3 seeds per cell)
- Match the holes of the seeder to the seeding holes on chainpots.
- Drop the seeds slowly.
- Remove the opening frame.
- Fill the covering soil by hand.
- Clean and flatten the surface with the back side of the brush.
- Water enough soon.
When grown enough, transplant them with our pepepot transplanter.
